The Cairngorms National Park is a popular spot. It is home to many hidden gems, including rural towns, friendly, quaint villages and more. Head off the beaten track to an historic part of the Cairngorms filled with ancient ruins, castles, distilleries, real Highland culture, uncommon species of wildlife and more to explore.
There is no shortage of things to see and do in the mighty, majestic Cairngorms National Park. The Park has more mountains, the largest Caledonian forests and forest paths, rivers, lochs, wildlife hotspots, and distilleries than you can possibly imagine. You can find five of the UK's six highest mountains, alongside 55 Munros - mountains over 3,000 ft.
It is not complete without mentioning The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd which is Britain’s only free-ranging herd of reindeer found in the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland. These tame and friendly animals are a joy to all who come and see them. Reindeer are not just for Christmas! There are currently around 150 reindeer in the herd, mostly ranging on the Cairngorm Mountains with the remainder on the Glenlivet Estate.
There are Visitor Centres throughout the Park, pop in for more information.
